CYCLE OF 5ths
This is a really nice exercise once you are familiar with the cycle. It uses a dominant 7 pattern and you can see how the 7th of one chord leads very nicely into the 3rd of the next (voice leading). The second arpeggio of each pair is the same shape as the first, except that the last two notes are down an octave. This allows the exercise to fit the range of the saxophone nicely, otherwise it would just keep ascending.
