"In October 2003, Mr P Thomas submitted a Grievance to the University. Following mutual and amicable discussions, and an apology from the University, Mr Thomas has accepted that apology and settled his Grievance but has decided to return to his work as a music composer full-time from 19 March 2004"

Pete Thomas taught music composition as part of the BA undergraduate course at the Music Department, University of Southampton, Hampshire, UK from 1999-2003. He designed and coordinated courses in Jazz, music technology and studio production.
He gained a diploma 1st class with merit at Leeds College of Music in 1975, since when he has worked internationally as a professional musician and composer. His session credits include Elton John, REM, PJ Harvey and Joe Jackson. He now works exclusively as a composer, with TV and film including feature films, UK commercials, drama and documentaries. He is still occasionally involved in university undergraduate studies as a consultant.
